6 month well check
Today was Zoe's 6 month well check. Everything looks good, the doctor wasn't worried about the fact that she never rolls over; she thinks everything is developing normally.
She measured 27 inches, 17 lbs 4 oz. That's 90th percentile for length, and 75th for weight. Her head size is 95th percentile. I actually think the nurse might have not gotten her full length measured, but no big deal.
She got three more shots and of course those are never fun but she's doing OK with it.
These past few weeks have produced some huge changes. Of course there are the two teeth, she is sitting up on her own really well, she's starting to say "dada" and do the "milk" sign and while I don't think she connects either with their meaning she will mimic both of them which is neat. She's now eating cereal and baby food and the doctor says we can start giving her finger food as well. It feels like there have been a lot of changes in a short period of time.
The next big change will be that Gena is going to stop breastfeeding. She's done such a great job of going this long. She said she'd go 6 months and she did and then she went a few more days to make sure she could feed Zoe after the vaccinations. So Gena will start ramping down with that and be done pretty soon. It won't be long after that before we'll move Zoe in to her own room which I think will be a bigger adjustment for mom and dad than it will be for baby.
