The Milk Sign
Dad here.
Much like her cousin Ashlynn Zoe has begun to do baby sign language for milk.
The sign is made with one hand and looks like milking a cow, squeezing the hand in and out with the thumb up. Daycare taught her the sign and we had seen her repeat it before but we didn't think she was connecting it to the meaning.
This week Gena was holding her in the evening and she was cranky and doing the milk sign. She didn't think it had been long enough since her feeding that she would be hungry but she tried feeding her and she ate a lot. Since then we've noticed that she does it a lot more and if you do the sign in front of her when it's time for her to eat she will repeat it. When she sees that you are acknowledging the sign she gets an incredibly proud look on her face.
I can't wait for her to learn some more signs!
